Leonie Thompson

I co-founded, curated, managed and directed the 2016 Music Series at St. George's Travancore, Victoria, Australia. This was a major fundraising event to purchase a new grand piano for the community, to be installed in the local church which features excellent acoustics. The event comprised seven concerts featuring emerging local musicians, was sponsored by local businesses, and was supported by the local council.

Co-founder and pianist in Ensemble con Fuoco - an ensemble of experienced and qualified performing musicians, who commission new works from emerging and established Australian composers, workshop, perform and record them. Featured on 3MBS radio broacasts, and debuted at Melbourne Recital Centre as part of People's Chamber Music event 2013.

Manager of Small Business (piano music studio) teaching classical piano lessons and music theory. Successfully preparing students for AMEB exams, and school assessments. Holding piano concerts for students at the end of every school term to improve their performance and public speaking skills.

Presented guest lecture for the "ignitelab" program at the Melbourne University's Conservatorium of Music. This was to inform attendees about the process of creating the St. George's Travancore Music Series, and to inspire young musicians to think outside the box for their musical careers.
