Student trainee - 20h/week: - Supported event managers in planning and executing event activities for trade fairs such as spoga horse, spoga+gafa, ProSweets, and ISM. - Engaged in communication and coordination with internal and external partners. - Maintained event databases, including for FSB/aquanale. - Handled general administrative tasks such as drafting contracts, creating Excel sheets for overviews and lists, verifying registration data, and preparing presentations, among others.

- Assisted in managing trade fairs such as the Eisenwarenmesse, spoga horse, and ORGATEC. - Tasks included creating product catalogs, organizing jury meetings, handling digital signage, coordinating with exhibitors, managing models, and overseeing event logistics. - Also handled administrative duties like drafting contracts, maintaining databases, and assisting with event technology workshops.

The Berghotel Rheinblick in Bendorf (closed due to COVID-19 in 2020) was a family-run hotel-restaurant-café rated 3 stars/Superior by DEHOGA. Family-owned since 1936, it featured 32 modern guest rooms with 62 beds. The restaurant-café seated 100 guests, with a panoramic terrace for 50, a breakfast room for 30, and 2 additional rooms for 25 each. All were popular for family gatherings and conferences. During my internship, I gained experience in service, beverage buffet, housekeeping, and kitchen operations.

- Planned and organized large-scale events in the event management sector. - Actively managed relationships with existing and new customers. - Conducted acquisition of potential service providers both domestically and internationally. - Created and presented customized offers and concepts. - Established new contacts with service providers. - Produced price comparisons to assess product positioning in the market. - Engaged in active price and condition negotiations with service providers.

During my Master’s program, I studied key areas in tourism management, including practical tourism insights, sustainability, organizational development, global business trends, financial performance management, destination planning, human resource strategies, communication, media management, and supply chain dynamics. I completed a 24-week internship and enhanced my research skills through scientific training and my Master’s thesis.

During my studies, I gained in-depth knowledge in tourism marketing, sustainable tourism, destination management, hospitality operations, cultural tourism, event management, and strategic planning. I also developed skills in market research, tourism-specific financial management, customer relationship management, and digital marketing for tourism businesses. Practical elements like internships and case studies provided hands-on experience.
