During my MSc project at Acreo I have been working with simulation of the bit-error-rate performance for coherent fiber optical transmission systems. I have characterized a kind of systems where the influence of fiber chromatic dispersion has been compensated in the transmitter. Digital signal processing implemented in MATLAB has been required as well as a good handle of VPIphotonics tool.
