Project managed or performed - depending on the size of the project - business deliverables: requirements gathering, conceptual design, user testing and training, change management. I was promoted to Global Aviation MI manager after my previous role and have recruited two new staff members to my new team. The role has evolved to a Global B2B MI team lead where I have leveraged my Aviation MI best practice across all B2B businesses, delivering several projects such as sales MI data quality framework, B2B standard OPEX reports whilst maintaining the production of operational MI for Aviation.

I was brought to Aviation to help them start using two global Downstream MI systems – OPEX and Sales MI. I have engaged with business, finance and IT stakeholders to understand business requirements, define solutions and data rules. I have worked further with IT to create a Sales MI add-on system in Oracle and have defined and rolled-out Sales and OPEX reports via Excel pivot tables. I have further developed and implemented control/exception reports to track data quality issues.

Historically Shell operated in a highly decentralised manner and the European MI department was building the first centralised data warehouses and standard reports in Shell Europe. I have worked on the development and implementation of two global financial MI systems (OPEX Bay and CAPEX Bay) throughout the full project life cycle with the greatest focus on deploy and training. Both systems have been in operation until their replacement by the next generation EDW between 2010-14.

Managing the accounting department of Shell Bulgaria with 12 people.

I have looked after the end-to-end accounting operations including delivery of statutory and management accounts. I have built an MS Access based MI data warehouse from which reports were produced seamlessly via pivot tables. The system included a currency ledger (to deal with 800% inflation), which was compliant with FASB52.

Newly created position with primary focus on the improvement of the quality and timeliness of month end closing through development of procedures and control reports. Improved the timeliness and correctness of transaction processing, month end closing and monthly reporting. Managed a department of four. Developed various control reports, reporting and input-automation tools gaining improved control over accounts and efficiency gains in transaction processing.
