Part of a team migrating a large on-prem system to a new microservice architecture running in the serverless cloud. Involved in all parts of the Cloud Architecture Design, Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, Scalability, as well as Security Concepts (Least Priv., CAM roles, etc ) Designed and implemented a complete CICD toolchain from the ground up as part of the project running completely serverless. Developed various Go-Lang based serverless functions into the private OPENFAAS on k8s cloud.

Part of the SIEM team at VW Financial Services that engineered and implemented a large QRADAR deployment from scratch.

Business SLA Monitoring Project. Architecture, Design & Implementation of a Proof of Concept of a Business Monitoring System displaying continuous transaction conformance to Business SLA’s. The proposed solution was integrated into the customers SCALA App and utilised API's to insert transaction metadata into an optimised scalable timeseries db ( TimeScaleDB ) with a customised Grafana Dashboard and deployed to their Docker based Private Cloud and tested in their production environment.

Proof of Concept to develop a cloud based monitoring concept using Prometheus. Creation of custom log and event exporters for application metrics. Migration of Python scripts to new GoLang based SPLUNK exporters. Wrapped the exporters in Docker Containers and deployed in a Kubernetes / OpenShift environment. Ensuring Prometheus and REST output API's were still working externally. Created Sample Grafana Dashboards to show the Prometheus metric output.

Developed custom metric exporters in Python to query data from an ELK stack and aggregated and transformed this data and re-exposed this for consumption by Prometheus as well as providing a REST interface for other teams. Created sample dashboards in Grafana for the end customer portal to extract and show Prometheus metrics. During the project the requirement to move from ELK to SPLUNK was made, and so I migrated the Python code and rewrote the code from ELK API's to target SPLUNK API's.

Architected and implemented a cloud based monitoring solution in a Dev-Ops team to migrate ( on behalf of Amadeus Cloud Services ) the IHG Hotel Group booking website to a new VMWare based private cloud solution utilizing : Java based Middleware, Kafka, Spark, Zookeeper, Diamond, Influx, Grafana, MAPR, HDFS, FluentD along with Docker, Puppet, VMWare Inegrated Openstack, RedHat OpenStack, Linux and Kubernetes and Openshift.

Technical Manager responsible for deployment and support of the online projects ( WebChat, Perm & Prefs, SDLC, EBPA, TAPAS, E-Shop, ASK Online, etc ) throughout the various key project delivery lifecycle stages from Design Phase through to Production and post Go-Live Support. Involved in the overall design and implementation of a roadmap for a cohesive fast-track training resulting in a ‘follow-the-sun’ model across all near- and off- shore teams in order to reduce costs for a global dev-ops team.

Worked within a small Dev-Ops team to design, develop & implement an automated ‘on-demand’ environment rollout for a number of Dev and Test environments each of which were based on the Document Management Stack from Oracle ( i.e. Apache / Weblogic / Web Center / Web Center Portal, Oracle RDBMS ) for a German Government project for Pharmaceutical Evaluation ( AMNOG ) which required end-to-end TLS security across all layers of the application stack.

Deployment and Rollout of the SEPAHUB financial payments clearing system across all Vodafone operating companies across Europe. Including RHEL Linux System Administration and multiple environment setup, installation, & configuration. Software package management definition, creation, automation of package checks as well as automation of packaged software deployment and smoke testing etc. Provision of 3rd Level Support to the SEPAHUB distributed Production Operations teams.

- Definition & Implementation of a roadmap for a new CI/CD based deployment process. - Troubleshooting performance and stability related application and system issues throughout the project lifecycle. - Deployment Support for ATG Commerce, Oracle, WebLogic Middleware, Solaris, Apache. - Architectural Design support for the proposed SEPA pan-European bank of the Vodafone Germany Online Shop project ( for the next release of the project ). - Solaris and RHEL based system administration.

Portal Specialist within the Core Enablers team providing deployment support for the production and pre-production Event Rating and Billing Systems ( E.R. ) for supported Vodafone Op-Co's as well as the Vodafone Global Enterprise platform.

Performance Specialist within the Vodafone MyWeb team. This role involved working with the solution architects for the MyWeb ( web & wap ) portals to analyse the system architecture and isolate and remove key performance blockage points in the current release and to provide best practices for future releases of the architecture. Providing 2nd Level Technical support to assist in the migration of supported devices and users from the Vodafone Live! Portal to the Vodafone MyWeb portal.

Leading a team of 5 Portal Specialists to maintain the Vodafone Live! systems for specific Vodafone country Op-Co's. Involved in daily client interface with the business owners of the portal in the relevant Op-Co's, and technical performance and stability analysis of the Live! portal architecture on the Production systems and implementation of findings to realise significant Service Level benefits.

Operations as well as Deployment, Maintenance & Troubleshooting of the production and pre-production platforms for the Vodafone Live! portals. Incident resolution, scripting, deployments, monitoring, change management. KPI and SLA fulfilment.

Content Management / Portal / Web Analytics on site Specialist for Vignette, CoreMedia and Weblogic. Clients included Telecom Italia Mobile, ValueTeam, Hamburg.de, Sal Oppenheim Private Bank, Vodafone (EITO), T-Mobile (KIWI), T-Systems, Autostadt.

Deployment, Configuration, Integration, Profiling and Debugging of the ATG Dynamo Application Server, ATG Search (Primus Knowledge Solutions), ATG Portal, ATG Publishing, ATG Commerce, etc across EMEA for clients.( DGI French Tax Office, MAIF, Groupama, AGF, Orange, France Telecom, Masterfoods / Mars, Premier Farnell, DNB Bank, Louis Vuitton, etc ). ART Technology Group was acquired in 2011 and is now part of Oracle Commerce Platform.

Analysis of the VISTA (Vodafone Intranet system) in order to improve system stability, performance and scalability via a series of workshops, code & architectural reviews looking at the utilisation of Weblogic and Vignette.

On site architectural performance and scalability reviews of the Content Management System in use at various projects at Daimler Chrysler ( Stuttgart ) and at T-Mobile ( Bonn ).

Analyzing, Troubleshooting and Optimizing the ALLTIM intranet portal and its subsidiary Weblogic systems at Telecom Italia Mobile ( TIM ). Leading a team of 5 developers to design and implement the RPDA (Report Piani Di Azione) project for TIM, using Weblogic, Vignette V7 and 3rd party software in order to visualise the state of any project that is active displaying GANTT charts, etc.
