Responsible for: Global Facility Engineering. Global Tooling Department covering the design, manufacturing and tool life cycle management of tooling.

Support the completion of the company’s first pharmaceutical products plant in China as well as the start-up of production. Coordinate the know - how transfer from Germany to China. Support the incorporation of the China plant into the overall structure of the company. Lead the planning for the second production facility in China.

Launch West Pharmaceutical Services’ operations in China with a green-field manufacturing plant project (a US$ 31 Million investment). Strong involvement within the establishment of two legal entities in China (a wholly foreign owned enterprise and a cooperative joint venture). Lead the conceptual - and preliminary design - phases of the 13,000 sqm plant and oversee the commencement of construction. Recruit and supervise the local workforce. Liase with local authorities.

Lead two expansion projects for a clean room facility in Germany / Stolberg (Investment of US$ 13 Million including production equipment). Support European and Asian plants, in particular manufacturing facilities in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Serbia and Denmark, with regard to expansions and investments. Conduct the initial planning for the proposed manufacturing plant in China including the exhaustive site selection process.

Coordinate preventive maintenance of facilities and production equipment. Manage investment projects within the German plant. Organize the transfer of equipment within Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Implement efficiency improvement and cost reduction projects.

Lead investment projects for all plants throughout Germany. Plan investments and budgets. Coordinate preventive maintenance of plants and equipment. Integrate an acquired plant. Special responsibility for water protection .
