Maximilian Pfaff

For 4 years, I was the tutor at the petrophysical laboratory at the geological department at Uni Freiburg. My tasks included collecting and preparing samples, data analysis and the execution of uniaxial, triaxial and brazilian tests at the rock press.

I did a 3 1/2 years apprenticeship and worked full time as a professional for half a year before going back to school. I'm skilled in fixing older machines as well as program and implement new electrical drive systems.

The focus area of the Master Program is "Rock mechanics and geodynamics". My emphasis lies on brittle rock deformation as well as engineering geology and numerical modeling in near-surface geophysics.

The B.Sc. Geoscience touched all major topics (e.g. Mineralogy, Structural Geology, Crystallography) as well other nature sciences. Not only did the program provide me with a fundamental background, but it also let me explore areas I was interested in and showed me possibilities for the future.
