+ Worked on a method to assist in finding quantifiable differences in comparative analysis using Deep Learning in Pytorch. + Built a light-sheet optical microscope that allows for optogenetic stimulation of a live-brain using a Spatial Light Modulator.

Part-time position as Research Assistant in the lab of Ruben Portugues. In this position I mainly worked on optimising an experimental setup where the camera tracked a fish while swimming. This project consisted of two parts: 1. Developing a time-efficient algorithm to extract the fish position from the camera (computer vision), and converting it to motor signals. 2. Developing an algorithm to keep track of different states in order to switch between different searching and tracking strategies.

Internship at the Institute of Cognitive Systems on the topic of sensory signal processing and classification. The goal of the project was two-fold: 1. Design a method that makes it engaging to collect data for training and calibration. For this two IMU sensors were used. These sensors were used as the ground truth to pick out the motor activity from the EEG. 2. Combine the signals from the IMU sensors and the EEG to get a more robust output signal.

Research Internship at Portugues lab. The goal of the project was to use Recurrent Neural Networks to take behavioural data of zebrafish larvae as input data and concurrently generate an output signal representing the likelihood of the input data belonging to a certain class (i.e. control vs. experimental group).

Teaching Assistant for the course Object-Oriented Programming in Java. Duties included helping students, holding QA sessions, grading homeworks and exams.

In this position I worked as an App Developer on both Android and iOS to accompany the web interface. I also started work on a prototype for a quizzing program.
