I found Operational days extremely exciting and just like office days I also had my own responsibilities. Below I mentioned a few of the responsibilities I had. I was a contact person for any questions the students might have both professional and personal. My duties included helping their student career counsellor within classes and on a field trip. I also ran my own classes and marked assignments. To help first year students become used to the environment of Saxion and the standard of work that was expected of them.

At the thistle city Barbican hotel I did lobby duty in the morning where I was there to meet and greet guests who were taking part in meetings or events. I also took care of internal office tasks such as calendar organisation, filing, laminating, ordering of stationary etc. I also received in-depth knowledge of the booking system OPERA and handled VIP bookings. I did arrivals checks and any other tasks that were required of me, which often meant using Microsoft office, which I am very capable with.

I did a 6 month internship in the hotel and worked in the kitchen (stocking breakfast buffet), as housekeeping and as a waitress during the breakfast buffet.

I attended courses such as Management principles, Marketing, Business economics, Research, Professional communication, International Hospitality, Event organisation, Tour operating, Finance, Business plan, Business writing, Connected leadership, Spanish and Destination development.
