Software inspection of a nuclear power-station simulator, then produced a strategy report, to management, on how to update and improve it.

Redesign of a large VB Windows Forms app into a C# Single Paged Web Application, encompassing Knockout.js, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript, Entity Framework, and MVC Core. Created a high-performing application that kept the original functionality, yet offered an up-to-date, Responsive web interface with brand new features. The new application was tested and run on tablet as well as the major desktop browsers.

Managed the redesign of a suite of web applications for Call Centre customers and coordinated their support, with the Infrastructure Team. Developed SSIS packages to import / transform large volumes of Cisco Call Data on a nightly schedule. With the assistance of a contractor, I designed and setup a SharePoint 2013 portal in a multi VM environment to display customer data. This included configuring customer extranets to show SSRS reports.

Developed mind mapping application, utilising Prism 5, WPF 4.5, and EF6. Although this was a personal project, it was taken on to keep my development skills current.

Re-architected an existing WPF application into a modular framework, utilising Caliburn Micro, Oracle 11g, and Autofac. The role was a short-term contract to write a new module and create a Shell application that invoked multiple modules in an efficient manner.

Completed code reviews of Silverlight 5, Prism 4, and MVVM code base – delivering profiling and improvement of Silverlight UI in SOA environment. Provided Jira Target Process, High-Level Design Documents, and Agile Project Planning. Architect to three different scrum teams working in a telecoms big-data environment, using Oracle 11g and Teradata. Delivered governance, documentation, project support, coding standards, mentoring and writing proof of concept applications.

Troubleshooting contract on a large, load-balanced ASP.Net site, eliminating performance and scalability issues (utilised Redgate Ants Profiler, PerfMon and Fiddler). The role was to find the cause of performance problems and correct them. The challenge was the company itself did not know if it was hardware or software related and so needed someone with both skillsets to tackle it.

Lead Architect role on a large Windows Workflow 4 framework design that persisted Oracle 11g data in a regulated financial environment. Created proof of concept software in C# and supporting documentation. The Workflow Framework loaded XAML based workflows from a database that dynamically loaded child workflows. Administered problem solving, code reviews, mentoring, and support of performance improvement efforts within Agile software environment.

Architected an enterprise Media Scheduling System using Silverlight 4, Prism and MVVM, which was part of a six-year Agile project focused on building new company platform. Designed and developed a multi-threaded Transcoder in C# that encoded video, audio and images as well as utilised CUDA to provide GPU acceleration.
