Group representative in Sydney responsible for delivering the project to a new key client and establishing Walz Group in Sydney with an aim to developing further relationships with key clients such as Sydney Water. Project was delivered to the satisfaction of the client and further tenders were offered. Achievements: Project was delivered to the satisfaction of the client and further tenders were offered.

Responsibilities included complete PE, Scheduling and Project Management while PM was on rotation break. Achievements: A number of difficulties and delays were experienced early in the project. Through careful planning, scheduling and contract management in combination with smart engineering we were able to correct project slippage and deliver the project on time and to budget.

Responsible for all plans and documents developed, engineering initiatives identified and leading a team of estimators who produced a lump sum price based on our chosen construction methodology. Achievements: GDEC’s tender submission and input throughout the ECI was recognised as being superior to the competition.

Responsibilities: Complete and comprehensive Project Management of Gas Processing Plant construction. Achievements: Project profit was increased from 14% to 37% and delivered to schedule. Additionally, an average result of 98% was achieved from six HSE audits performed by the client which resulted in formal recognition by QGC of our outstanding safety onsite, as quoted by senior QGC safety personnel as the highest results ever seen.

SPE and CM for 2No. gas pipelines and 4No. processing plant tie-ins and metering stations. Issues with design were not identified prior to my mobilisation to the project. When tasked with the problem, I was able to mitigate re-work and extra work through successful engineering, TQ’s and change management. During the lessons learnt process following completion of the project it was noted by the client that had I been in a more senior role earlier in the project a number of issues may have been avoided.

SPE on a 16” gas lateral steel pipeline for Wasco Australia who were contracted to MCJV. Responsible for all civil, mechanical, quality and CP installations. Achievements: Rectified a welding error which was causing a major problem for Wasco and MCJV. Following my intervention, the weld repair rate was drastically reduced and the project became a success.

Responsibilities: Tendering, cost, execution, safety and quality management for a number of contracts from TRACA involving numerous pipe laying projects throughout Sydney. Achievements: I successfully increased contract value by 60% through additional scope and variations in parallel to negotiating additional contracts and establishing Old Bawn as a preferred contractor for Thiess.

Responsibilities: Complete site engineering, construction management and project management of hotel development. Also principal point of contact for architect, design engineer and client. Achievements: Project was delivered under budget, to schedule and to a notably high standard of finish. All this was achieved without interruption to the daily trade of the existing business. Site safety was formally recognised by the company insurer which resulted in a 10% discount to the premium.
