Dr. Philip Heringlake

Continuing exciting research in the field of nano-opto-mechanics (Casimir force measurements, Opto-mechanical coupling between a nanowire and a photonic crystal cavity) after my PhD in the wonderful settings of the French Alpes.

At the end of my PhD project titled "Realtime imaging of force fields at the nanoscale with a 2D nano-optomechanical probe". During the project I had the opportunity to - develop and prove my experimental skills - learn new programming languages (C, Phyton, VHDL) - communicate our research findings - train and introduce others on the setup - work with industrial and academic collaborators - learn and apply my acquired knowledge in the field of nano opto-mechanics

During my industrial internship in the scope of the Grenoble Quantum Engineering PhD program, I implemented a table top Qubit characterization setup tailored to the requirements of the sales agents to be used as on site demonstration setup. Additionally, I wrote an application note about a part of my PhD research that relies on extensive use of ZI's instruments. Furthermore, the internship gave me insights in costumer support, sales and technical development.

I successfully obtained my master's degree with a study of "Polarisation and Angular Resolved Cathodoluminescence Imaging Spectroscopy of Resonant Optical Nanostructures" It was a great pleasure to - work in a vibrant international environment - acquire skills in nano-fabrication and electron microscopy - learn and communicate about nano-photonics
