The interdisciplinary work included experimental and theoretical work with focus on heavy metals contamination. The work requires familiarisation with statistical data analysis as well as with diverse laboratory equipment and methods (i.e. molecular biology methods, aseptic work and culturing microorganisms).

Internship took place at the External Radiation Exposure Control Laboratory of Radiation Safety Department. Results: - familiarisation with environmental radiation exposure monitoring regulations (). - practicing the methods of sampling, transporting and conservation of samples, sample preparation procedures (water, sediments, soil, plants) - familiarisation with gamma-spectrometry - research on migration and accumulation of anthropogenic radionuclides (master thesis and published research paper)

Study in field of ecology and soil science with emphasis on effects of various pollutants on living organisms and ecosystems (organic and inorganic). Research work was focused on accumulation, and migration of anthropogenic radionuclides in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
