Dr. Rathi Krishnan Rengarasu

I'm working as a final year Ph.D. student in the field of organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. M. E. Maier group at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Mainly, We are focusing on total synthesis of biologically active compounds and studies their activity. Also, developing new methodology for organic synthesis.

Focused on designed, synthesized bis-macrocyclic compounds as contrast agents for MR imaging  Investigated the Ligand synthesis in solid resin platform to minimize the time  Organized Lab chemicals and maintained the NMR, Parr Shakers and GC-MS Instrument

I worked as a Research Scientist in the field of medicinal chemistry for leading pharmaceutical clients such as Roche, Merck-USA and Alcon. Mainly, I was responsible for synthesizing heterocyclic molecules required for SAR study towards antiviral and anti-cancer targets. Also, I have involved in Liquid phase peptide synthesis using various amino acids (LPPS).

I was fortunate to work in the area of material chemistry for top chemical companies such as Eastman Kodak, Sumitomo chemicals and BASF. I have been synthesized, analyzed of organic materials for OLED applications. Independently, I carried out the synthesis of carbazole, fluorene, thiophene-based monomer towards the polymerization reactions. All the skills enables me to familiarize with electron transport material synthesis and knowledge of photophysical properties.

I worked as a Research Scientist in the field of medicinal chemistry for top leading pharmaceutical industries such as Merck KGaA, Abbott and AstraZeneca etc. Mainly, I was responsible to execute the synthesis of assigned compounds to identify new drug candidate for various human diseases. This enables me to familiarize with heterocyclic synthesis and various analytical methods.
