My research focuses on minority representations in video games. I am particularly intrigued by portrayals of sexuality and gender. More specifically, my current research is a mixed method of critical theory and media studies and focuses on the connections made by video games: connections between representations in games and player world view -- and how these shape the interactions we have with each other.

Lead seminar for the first-year Creative Writing module by writing plans and giving weekly two-hour sessions in which the students applied lessons from the lecture. I also marked and monitored student’s workshopping of their creative pieces. The seminar was the continuation of the Creative Reading module.

I edited numerous journalistic pieces for magazines for various industries, a website for a small business, and one novel.

Lead shifts that consisted of making coffee, baking, serving customers, and training others on customer service.

Created storylines and wrote in-game text and scripts for the game Liberty.

My PhD, which I am currently preparing for submission, is entitled "RPG: Role-playing Gender -- Projecting the Gendered Self into Games", and is supervised by Prof. Anthony Mandal and Dr. Alix Beeston (and formerly Prof. Laurent Milesi). My research focuses on sexuality and gender in video games.

My M.A. thesis was an excerpt of a novel, accompanied by critical commentary on my writing process. This eventually led me to study representations of women in various areas of popular culture for my PhD.

I took a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing (major) as well as in Literature (minor) and Business Management (minor). My senior thesis was on Virginia Woolf and portrayals of sexuality. Recognized by Dean's List for four semesters.
