PhD Researcher entitled: Microbiome, Metabolomics and Stroke at the Graduate School for Systemic Neuroscience Resulted in 5 publications.

Year in professional experience in Professor Patrik Ernfors and Ulrika Marklund’s group. Activities: Analysis of the enteric nervous system in mouse aged E16.5-E18.5 in mutants for proneural gene Mash1, to find genes which cause sub-specification of the Calbindin, TH, NOS and VIP neuronal phenotypes. This research was based on a previously performed microarray.

• Showed responsibility by finding part-time work during first year at university. • Improved my persuasion and customer interaction whilst greeting guests chatting, providing samples, and recommendations. • Develop a specialized knowledge into chocolate. • Increased my commercial awareness, by working for a larger and international company. • Flew to Amsterdam to aid opening and set up of first European store.

PD Dr. Arthur Liesz’s group “The role of gut microbiota-derived metabolites in stroke outcome.” Activities: Germ-free mouse handling, FMT, flow cytometry (8-colour FACS), cell isolation, in vitro culturing of immune cells, immunohistology, qPCR, experimental stroke models and behavioural testing.
