Dr. René Heller

I am an astrophysicist by education with an expertise in big data analysis and a special interest for planets around other stars. In 2019, I co-developed a new computer software that we used to find a total of 18 new planets outside the solar system. My current position is as a Team Lead for Research & Development at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research for the PLATO space mission of ESA. For my 2022 lecture "Astronomy for Students of all Faculties" for non-physics students I was awarded with the Robert-Wichard-Pohl Medal by the Faculty of Physics.
