Robert Rathbone

Responsible for a team of 24 people involved in the integration of aircraft Flight Control Systems, from Software Integration to System Level Integration. I am responsible for the planning and execution of all activities within the department. Most importantly, the motivation, development and leadership of my people.

I was working for Airbus Defence and Space as a Software Verfication Responsible on the Talarion UAS programme. I was responsible for setting up the software and equipment verification plans according to DO-178B and ARP4754 and responsible for a team that independently verified the flight controls.

Whilst working here I was responsible for a small team that tested and integrated aspects of the Eurofighter Typhoon Flight Control Laws

During this time I worked for a short while in the UK as part of the team providing flight clearances to the Eurofighter Typhoon but then I moved on the work within the Control Law Design group based in a joint team in Germany. Here I was involved in Control Law Design, Flight Clearance and finally IV&V.

Main subjects include Aerodynamics, Flight Dynamics, Aircraft Structures, Flight Control, Aircraft Performance and Aircraft Design. In addition to my degree I have also obtained a Diploma in Professional studies (Dip PS).
