Scholarship to complete a PhD in PIV technique. • Effective writing skills as demonstrated by the publication of 1 research journal paper and 5 symposium papers. • Analytical skills employed for the development of a methodology that allows reducing PIV measurement errors by up to 70%. • Problem solving skills as evidenced by the development of 3 Matlab tools for analysis and calculation of PIV errors. • Requirements specification, design, development and data analysis of 4 aerodynamic test campaigns.

Collaboration part of the PhD to analyse the effect of a passive flow control strategy (Vortex Generators, VGs) in the flow around a blunt helicopter fuselage. • Team working skills improved by collaborating with a group of 3 people to conduct wind tunnel measurements (PIV and pressure taps). • Design of a set of VGs that achieved a reduction of a 40% of a penalizing flow phenomenon. • Communication skills applied to publish a symposium paper and deliver a symposium presentation.

Collaboration part of the PhD to complete a wind tunnel test campaign in the characterization of a turbulent boundary layer. • Team working skills improved by collaborating with a group of 5 people to conduct wind tunnel test campaign (with PIV technique) within schedule. • Time management and creative problem solving skills applied to develop two new methodologies in Matlab which improved the coherent aerodynamic data yield of PIV images low quality region from a 33% to a 100%.

Temporary replacement of an employee. Realization of different tasks related with the fuel system. • Conducted CFD Simulations of Eurofighter fuel system performances with Flowmaster, which results were reported in a technical document delivered to all 4 consortium partners. • Collaborated to propose guidelines for improvement of HAL-Tejas fuel system. • Completed different tasks for Eurofighter fuel system: analysis of flight tests, diagnosis and reparation of failure cases and certification for flight.

Full time internship to complete Final Degree Project. Modelling and optimization of anti-ice system by hot impinging jets. • Optimized the model to study the anti-ice system of airplane wings with CFD simulations (heat transfer error reduced from a 100% to a 10%) by comparing the results from different CFD models against experimental data. • Started 3 guidelines for optimization of the system by performing and analysing CFD simulations (with StarCCM+).

My PhD, entitled "Advanced PIV in Flows of Industrial Interest. Errors Characterization", focused on the capacity of the PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) technique to measure turbulent flows. Those are the flows most commonly found in the industry and of high relevance to any aerodynamics problem.

This Master was completed in parallel with the last year of the Aeronautical Engineering degree.

This diploma was obtained thanks to a double degree agreement with my university of origin (UPM).
