Werdegang

Berufserfahrung von Roman Ryltsov

  • Bis heute 1 Jahr und 7 Monate, seit 2025

    Gaming Engineer

    PHȲND

Phynd is redefining big‑screen gaming: a free, ad‑supported cloud platform (Samsung Gaming Hub beta 2026; LG next) streaming console‑grade Windows games to Smart TVs and making “build once, run everywhere” real across fragmented TV OSes and hardware. I build the seamless integration: low‑latency WebRTC delivery, full input support (remote, phone, gamepad), and cross‑TV interoperability for real‑time media at scale.

  • Bis heute 9 Jahre und 7 Monate, seit 2017

    Media Software Engineer

    Castlabs GmbH

At Castlabs I work across professional services and custom media‑stack projects, integrating and supporting our products as they embed into partner and internal systems. I also build frontier tech proofs‑of‑concept, including new MPEG‑DASH extensions from draft specs. The work centers on DRM streaming across DASH/HLS/CMAF, GStreamer and EME paths, delivering format‑correct protected playback on web, mobile, TV and STB targets.

  • Bis heute 29 Jahre und 7 Monate, seit 1997

    Software Engineer

    Oprogramowanie Roman Ryltsov

Since 1997 I have worked as an independent engineer; since 2023 that work runs through my Poland-based B2B entity, Oprogramowanie Roman Ryltsov. It umbrellas the contract and consulting engagements detailed in this CV — spanning broadcast-recording stabilization to cloud gaming — while side projects range from FX-market trading and Dolby reference-code work to Amazon GameLift, Proton/Wine, and high color-depth codec work extending The Imaging Source's software for film scanning and archival.

  • 2024 - 2025

    Video Software Engineer

    Siemens Digital Industries Software

Contract specialist for media recording/storage on Siemens Simcenter Testlab / SCADA RS REC, designing and implementing the video‑recording subsystem. Integrated cameras as first‑class sensors and delivered a robust recording/storage pipeline. Shipped in release 2406.0001, enabling up to six synchronized video streams captured in lockstep with the platform’s analog and digital measurement data.

  • 5 Jahre und 9 Monate, 2017 - Sep. 2022

    Software Engineer

    Rainway, Inc.

As Rainway’s first engineer, I built the peer‑to‑peer game‑streaming backend: capturing, encoding and transporting gameplay over low‑latency WebRTC from a player’s PC to remote desktop and mobile clients. Our real‑time SDK was later integrated into Xbox Cloud Gaming, with my code among the components enabling browser and iOS support. I also invented a US‑patented encoding method (No. 11,470,137). Rainway shut down in 2022.

  • 9 Jahre und 9 Monate, Nov. 2008 - Juli 2018

    Contract Software Developer

Verizon Digital Media Services, Inc. (formerly Volicon, Inc.)

A decade of C++ work on the Volicon Media Intelligence Platform, a 24/7 broadcast monitoring and compliance product under Verizon/Oath. I built its real‑time audio loudness monitoring subsystem, engineered to FCC CALM Act, ATSC A/85 and SCTE 197. My broader work spanned encoding, recording and media processing, integrating capture hardware and codecs into the platform for continuous, format‑correct operation.

  • 2003 - 2013

    Principal Software Engineer

    A&H Software House, Inc. (Luxriot)

As the first engineer hired after the founders of Luxriot Video Management System, I designed and authored most of the original product and built the engineering base the company still relies on. Luxriot secures military bases, airports, nuclear plants and other critical sites worldwide; by 2012 it controlled over 1,000,000 cameras. It continues to run in high‑profile government, commercial and military deployments for over a decade.
