The role encompasses managing analytics projects from end-to-end. Formulation of the business problem. Acquisition of the right data for the project. Preparation of the data for analysis. Analysis of data via exploration and modeling (fitting) using machine learning algorithms. Validation of model accuracy. Communication of project outcome to stakeholders.

The position served the purpose of conducting research and providing lectures, in Engineering Project Management, Materials Selection and Design, and Polymer Science to both undergraduate and graduate students.

The improvement of productivity, efficiency and quality was the focus of the position. It required the heavy use of data mining and data analysis, to search for insight, to support management decision making. The role had the added responsibility to work collaboratively with others to deliver improvement projects for the business.
