In June 2024, after Uber Carshare was fully integrated into Uber, I transitioned to a Software Engineer role within the VMC (Verification, Member Behaviour, and Identity) squad, focusing on feature development for both the web and app. Shortly after, Uber announced the global shutdown of its car-sharing business, with Uber Carshare set to cease operations in September 2024.

Assisted in task breakdown, reducing technical debt, creating API contracts, and improving test coverage. Engineered Flutter plugins (Braze, advertising_id), UI packages, and a debug screen. Reduced the crash rate by 71% (0.7% to 0.2%) and increased test coverage from 43% to 62%. Streamlined release processes, cutting the cycle from 20 to 14 days. Conducted bi-weekly knowledge-sharing sessions for 30+ engineers.

Uber acquired Car Next Door, a peer-to-peer car-sharing platform, where I joined as a Software Engineer. I played a key role in rewriting the app from Ionic to Flutter using BloC architecture, impacting 100,000+ users. I supported the rebranding to Uber Carshare, ensuring brand consistency and app stability during the transition. Helped maintain a 99.8% crash-free session rate by resolving Sentry error spikes and contributed to developing a Bluetooth lock/unlock feature for 100+ Otoplug-enabled cars.

Designed and delivered over 5+ mobile applications using Flutter and web applications using Next.js. Interviewed and Mentored interns in cross-platform app development with Flutter implementing diverse architectural patterns, and contributing to a 10% increase in company growth. Partnered with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain mobile and web applications.
