The Kaushik Lab aims to build human-relevant infection platforms, understand complex infection environments with a focus on biofilms, and develop and test composite infection therapeutics. I had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Kaushik and co-author a review article titled "Bioengineered Platforms for Chronic Wound Infection Studies: How Can We Make Them More Human-Relevant?"

During the internship at the Respiratory Syncytial Virus department of the Serum Institute, I acquired valuable practical experience in Hemagglutinin Assay, Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques. These techniques being critical in research, allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of virus detection, identification, and analysis. The experience enhanced my skills and knowledge in the field of virology.
