Being part of the Linux on System z and z/VSE development team, I have responsibility for the growth and acceptance of these operating system products including support and skill development.

Market development and sales for new IBM System z (mainframe) customers in Russia and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). Building a new team of sales and technical experts.

Assignment to IBM East Europe/Asia. Establishment and extension of IBM offshore development capabilities and support of business development in Russia and selected CIS countries, like Ukraine. Achievements included the opening of the IBM Russia STG development laboratory (RSTL) in 2006 and the increase in number of Russian resources from selected partners in Russia utilized for IBM software development work.

Leading the worldwide development team responsible for the WBI-FN solution offering including related functions like finance, services, marketing, and sales support. WBI-FN is a strategic network hub for the Banking and Financial Markets segment.

Manager for the joint development part of the ALLTEL Corebanking Solutions joint venture. Initially responsible for the transfer of the IBM Corebank development mission from IBM Denmark into the Boeblingen lab. As part of the IBM - ALLTEL joint venture responsibilities shifted to the management of the transfer of Corebank development into ALLTEL.

Responsible for the offering creation and market development of Smart Card loyalty solutions. This included 3 rd-party products as well as IBM developed products, and a major customer engagement with Simon Properties, the leading US mall owner and mall development company.

Responsibilities included support for Smart Card related proposals and development projects. Examples of larger customer projects include: Automotive industry: Renault Mais, Turkey; Daimler, Germany. Finance industry: DSV, Germany; Bank Nagara, Malaysia. Government: SIR (Singapore Immigration & Registration), Singapore.

Buildup of a European Parallel Systems Support Center with responsibility for customer and marketing support for IBM parallel systems (S/390 Parallel Query Server, S/390 Parallel Transaction Server under MVS, and SP2, a highly parallel UNIX system). Activities included large and complex benchmarking projects, support, training projects and marketing support.

Assignment to Enterprise Systems Marketing in Somers, NY (USA). Responsible for worldwide market planning and introduction of new products related to S/390 (mainframe) hardware and software. Participated in the planning and management of two major Enterprise Systems product announcements including up to 50 individual products.
