- Data analysis on the effects of hydrology, habitat structure, and vectoring in the establishment, dispersion, and distribution of Florida’s non-native apple snail Pomacea maculata. - Development of mesocosm experiments to test the impacts of invasive fish predators in Florida’s native apple snail P. paludosa. - Care, breeding, and maintenance of fish and snails in aquaria and mesocosms.

- In-vitro experiments testing fish tolerance to extreme temperatures, as well as temperature and salinity changes combined. - Performed experiments testing salinity stress in marine snails, crabs, and shrimp, and analyzed physiological response to stress through ion and protein measurements. - Worked in determining the sub-lethal consequences (e.g., premature birth; consecutive abortions; parental fitness) of bycatch on endemic and endangered elasmobranch species.

- Lead the project: Ecophysiology of Florida’s non-native aquatic fauna. - Tested ecophysiological parameters, such as temperature and salinity tolerance, in invasive fish. - Care and maintenance of fish in laboratory and mesocosms.

- Developed tolerance tests to abiotic parameters on the biofouling invasive species Cordylophora caspia and Limnoperna fortune, in order to find possible eradication methods. - Developed species’ invasion risk models (using ArcGIS) based on tolerance data. - Responsible for specimen care, breeding, and maintenance in the lab.

- Developed experiments on ecophysiology of aquatic animals resulting in peer-reviewed publications. - Mentored and taught classes for undergraduate and graduate students. - Awarded with grants and funding for international research, training, and travels.
