Research Assistant for the Coral Reef Ecology group (CORE LMU, Munich): Participation in several research projects, data collection, lab work, statistical evaluation, image processing.

Internship at the Red Sea Environmental Centre (RSEC): reef ecology and environmental protection in El Quesir (Egypt): Leading introductory classes about the formation of the Red Sea, the structure and the role of coral reefs. Assisting research projects and the preparation of presentations.

Research assistant on an expedition (leg 5) with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (Mbari): submarine volcanism and biodiversity on the Juan de Fuca and Gorda Mid-Ocean ridges (USA) - Operation on GIS maps to locate ROV and research vessel positions. - Recording of scientific observations and discussions during the ROV dives. - Assistance in sample recovery/analysis and their preparation for transport and future analysis.

Research assistant for the Volcanology Department (LMU) – with the ‘Centro de Intercambio y Investicación en Vulcanologia’ in Colima (Mexico) - Data collection on the volcano ‘Fuego de Colima’: density measurements of clasts along pyroclastic flows and recording of their stratification.
