The voestalpine Foundry Group has made a name for itself in the worldwide production (Austria and China) of high-quality steel castings and nickel-based alloys. Depending on the material and design, we supply castings that weigh only a few kilograms or up to 200 metric tons. The castings are mainly used in power generation, oil and gas industries, offshore applications, machinery, railway systems and the automotive sector.

voestalpine Texas LLC is the Group's largest foreign direct investment and a major step in achieving a low-carbon economy. voestalpine has been investing more than 750 MUSD in the world's most advanced and environmentally friendly natural gas based direct reduction plant with an annual capacity of 2 million metric tons of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI).

The greenfield erection of voestalpine Steel Service Center Polska Sp. z o.o. in 2005 has been the first step in an ever since continuously sustained Eastern-European growth strategy of voestalpine Steel Service Center Group. voestalpine Steel Service Center Polska Sp z o.o. is providing high-quality cut-to-lenghts sheets and slit-strips based on innovative voestalpine steel products focussing on a variety of customer segments like domestic appliances and automotive.

Erection of new “voestalpine Steel Service Center” in Giurgiu, Romania with an overall investment of around 20 Mio EUR. In accordance with the underlying business plan aim for continuous growth in sales volumes up to preliminary maximum capacity of a 130.000 tons of processed slit strips and cut-to-length sheets while ensuring highest product and service quality.
