Streeck Research Group, Institute of Virology, University Hospital Bonn (UKB), Research focus: Sequence-based evaluation of CRISPR knockout human cell lines to investigate innate antiviral restriction factors relevant to mpox virus infection

Research focus: Directed evolution and immunological characterization of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike RBD. Developed a Design-Expert-guided error-prone PCR workflow and generated 144 sequence-validated RBD mutants. Assessed ACE2 binding and human IgG recognition using sera from differently vaccinated individuals. Produced recombinant Spike proteins in HEK293T cells and evaluated viral entry in Vero E6 plaque assays with naturally isolated SARS-CoV-2 variants under BSL-3 conditions.

Awarded the prestigious TÜBİTAK 2211/C PhD Scholarship, supporting my doctoral research in priority fields of science and technology.
