Torben Voss Nielsen

On September 4th 2006 Torben Voss Nielsen founded his personal IT company Combine-IT and has since been working with customers, handling whatever IT task is needed. First big task was Project Management at IBM Denmark where the customer was Carlsberg. (11/2006 -03/2008). Second big task was to migrate the backend belonging to www.starv.fo, from an IBM platform to a Microsoft platform. Customer was www.als.fo. In addition numerous operating, troubleshooting, installation and debugging activities have been

1) Lead a group of technicians that handled installation, operation, documentation etc. of 150+ Microsoft Windows, SUN Solaris, Linux and HP UX servers. 2) Design, implementation and operation of Windows, HP UX, Linux and Solaris systems. 3) Support a global customer and his IT projects. The development was taking place in a global environment and we were giving programmers, testers and other key personnel the best surroundings possible.

First period: Sold as a consultant to a large shipping company. Task was to assist senior management with administration (non-technical), purchase and general handling of a large global production environment. Second period: Work out/design automatic implementation of Windows systems going from the box to ready system within one workday. Design and implementation of shared infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, AD, Web and File Server). Manage HW, SW and security.
