Project title: Evaluation of tribological behaviour of Polyoxymethylene (POM) against steel Work: 1). Planning of experiments by using DOE (design of experiments) 2). Tribological tests in Lubrication contact (Tribometers RV250 & OFT) 3). Surface analysis of specimens (Microscopy, CLSM) 4). Influence of (Temperature, Roughness, sliding velocity, Load, material morphology and lubrication) on friction and wear behaviour of POM against steel 5). Evaluation of obtained results and transferability etc.

Project title: Synthesis of SiO2 nanoparticles to improve tribological properties of epoxy resins (polyepoxides). Work: 1. Chemical synthesis of SiO2 nanoparticles by using sol gel process and their size measurement 2. Manufacturing and processing of SiO2 nanoparticle reinforced polymer composite 3. Tribological tests of polymer nanocomposites (Block on Ring and pin on disc test rigs) 4. surface analysis of specimens (SEM) 5. Analysis of obtained tribological results (wear &material transfer) etc.

Work • Melting process and casting process (sand casting) • Machining processes (Drilling, cutting and turning etc.) • Process of removing burr from work pieces • Degreasing & cleaning process • Plating, assembly, testing and finishing process of the specimen
