PRIME Alliance AISBL

About us

The PRIME ALLIANCE (PRIME = PoweRline Intelligent Metering Evolution) is a membership led group of key industry players, formed to develop an open and future-proofed communications infrastructure to support large-scale metering and other Smart Grid projects. The goal of the Alliance is to provide a framework in which vendors of meters, data concentrators, in-home devices and chipsets, can access fully open physical layer (PHY) and Medium Access Control (MAC) specifications in order to design fully interoperable solutions, allowing multiple vendors to be operational within the same distribution network in one common system platform.

The PRIME Alliance was formed to develop an open and future-proofed communications infrastructure to support large-scale metering and other Smart Grid projects. The founding PRIME Alliance members are leading industry players who, with the support of all PRIME's members, aim to turn this vision for an open and public solution into a commercially available solution. Founding PRIME Alliance partners (Principal Members) are: Iberdrola, ST Microelectronics, Texas Instruments, Landis Gyr, Itron, Current Group, Ziv Group and Atmel Spain SAU.

Becoming a PRIME Alliance regular member is open to all potential partners who agree to actively support and promote an open and public specification for the benefit of the end-user and all industry stakeholders. The Alliance has two categories of participants: Principal Members and Regular Members.

If you wish to register your interest in becoming a member, please email info@prime-alliance.org or look at our website on how to join http://www.prime-alliance.org/join_prime.php
