The Department for Digital Medicine (DDM) at the Faculty of Medicine
Start of employment: October 1, 2025, or by agreement
The Department for Digital Medicine (DDM) is a newly established department within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bern. Its mission is to promote research, translation, implementation, and education in digital medicine and AI technologies across the Bern Campus (including Insel Hospital, the University of Bern, and the University Psychiatric Services). To enhance visibility and engagement, we are looking for a Communications & Outreach Assistant to support and help shape the department's communication strategy.
– Create multimedia content (videos, photos, podcasts, infographics)
– Maintain and update website content (both university and external pages)
– Support the development of the department's overall communication strategy
– Collaborate with the DDM board and scientific delegates on content
– Initiate and coordinate internal visibility formats (e.g. Paper of the Month)
– Ensure consistent visual identity; work with designers or independently on branding and layouts
– Coordinate press releases with University of Bern and Inselspital media offices
– Organize and support events (e.g. symposia, outreach, industry collaborations)
– Provide on-site event assistance and manage documentation (photo, video, summaries)
– Proactively gather or create content from DDM researchers
– Support the general operations of the Department of Digital Medicine
– Experience in interdisciplinary and research environments, ideally in digital health, medicine, or biomedical fields
– Strong skills in digital content creation (e.g. graphic design, video/audio production)
– Proven ability to manage digital communication strategies (websites, newsletters, social media)
– Excellent English (spoken and written); German is a strong asset
– Familiarity with content production and publishing tools
– Creative, proactive, and independent working style
– Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
