We are looking for a Director Talent & Capability based in Bonn, Germany.
Job Purpose:
- Design and continuously evolve DHL Express’ global Talent Management and Performance approach, ensuring alignment with DHL Group standards and business priorities
- Lead high-potential identification, succession planning, and leadership pipeline frameworks that are globally consistent while remaining relevant across local business contexts
- Build strong leadership depth and future-ready capability through focused leadership development and learning solutions
- Define and govern the global Learning strategy, ensuring solutions are modern, scalable, and accessible across diverse workforce segments
- Evolve learning journeys, capability frameworks, and development approaches that balance strategic priorities with practical applicability
- Act as an integrator across Talent Acquisition, Engagement, and DEIB to deliver a coherent, high-performance employee experience aligned with Great Place to Thrive principles
- Govern and optimize leadership development programs, Career Marketplace, myTalentWorld, vendor partnerships, and related investments to maximize business impact
- Use data, analytics, and feedback to measure impact and continuously improve talent and capability outcomes
- Drive key global projects end to end, from design through execution, ensuring frameworks are implemented consistently across a complex, matrix environment
Do you have what it takes?
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field; postgraduate qualification preferred
- Typically 8–10+ years of experience across Talent Management, Performance, Leadership Development, and/or Learning in a global, matrix environment
- Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise frameworks and scalable people solutions
- Comfort operating in a lean, high-ownership environment, leading through influence rather than hierarchy
- Demonstrated ability to combine strategic capability building with hands-on delivery
- Strong business acumen and experience in organizations with large frontline or operational workforces
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions, regions, and levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to use data and insight to drive improvement
- Experience translating strategic concepts into practical frameworks, tools, and implementation approaches that can be applied consistently across geographies and employee populations
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage
