• Developing methods in quantifying trace elements (Fe) at a single cell using the Radio Frequency Oxygen source of the nanoSIMS. • Tuning and operating the nanoSIMS for the metallic uptake at a single cell level • Preparing biological samples for nanoSIMS analyses, including performing CARD FISH (catalyzed reporter deposition Fluorescence in situ hybridization) & cell imaging using Lyca microscope (laser microdissection microscope (LMD)).

• Planning and organizing project for the nanoSIMS laboratory. • Working on day-to-day nanoSIMS operations in acquiring high-resolution imaging on biological samples. • NanoSIMS-data processing using a lookatnanoSIMS • Determining the elemental composition and imaging of single and aggregate cells using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). • Preparing microbiological samples such as Fluorescence in situ hybridization,

• Oversee the installation of SIMS 1280-HR at GFZ, • Mineral characterization for their isotopic homogeneity using the SIMS 1280-HR. • Conducting experiments: U-Pb isotopes measures for age dating, FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) for chemical impurities detection, Cathodoluminescence (CL), backscattering electron (BSE) imaging using SEM, MicroMag Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) and Alternating Gradient Magnetometer (AGM)

• Establishing heavy mineral extraction laboratory. • SEM and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) analyses. Cathodoluminescence (CL) and backscattering electron (BSE) imaging using electron microprobe (EPM).

• Geological field mapping in quartz-hosted gold in Zara • Bore-hole core quality control and logging for their structural, lithological and mineral mapping • Preparing 2D profiling from the core-logging. • Supervising bore-hole at sites

- Developing virtual and remote access to Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) for South Africa; and first tests towards 'fingerprinting' diamonds using their stable isotope chemistry and magnetic properties.
