Dr. Alex Domingues Batista

The main tasks of this position are focused on leading research on the synthesis of new material with recognitional abilities, the so called molecularly imprinted materials for selective recognition and extraction of biomolecules and virus, mainly proteins, peptides and virus, which are a powerful tool to improve detectability and selectivity of analysis.

My main functions were focused on teaching, supervising, and researching. I taught several analytical chemistry topics, such as qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and separations techniques. I supervised undergraduate and graduate students (Master and Ph.D.) on the development on their research projects, which were focused on different topics, such as sample preparation techniques, colorimetric determinations, UV-Vis spectrometry and chromatography.

During my first post-doc I developed new alternatives and instrumentations to improve selectivity of sequential injection chromatography systems by the implementation of 2D separations
