The Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion (CFI) is an action-oriented think tank that works to help bring about the conditions to achieve full financial inclusion worldwide and engages and challenges the industry to better serve, protect and empower clients.

Four in five Peruvians don’t have a bank account, but there are about 32 million cell phones in the country. For this reason, the leading Peruvian banks have teamed up to get money moving through those phones. In December 2015, Peru Digital Payments, a company owned and operated by the country’s leading financial institutions, launched Billetera Móvil (Bim), a mobile payment program that unites all their online customers on one system.
