Developing the HR strategy for 5 Reed Elsevier companies in Belgium and 4 branches abroad (Utrecht, Parijs, Mainz en Londen/Milaan) in line with the corporate framework. (incl. expat policy) Point of contact for HR, labor law and industrial relations for all branch managers in Benelux as well as in France, Germany, UK and Italy Setting up the Works Council, Safety Committee and representing the employer in both As of September 2001: reorganizing, down sizing and finally closing down the Belgian operations.

Managing all HR activities (incl. Facility Management) for the Flemish part of the organization (7000 employees). Managing a team of 23 staff members. Coordinating HR activities in Limburg, Antwerpen, Oost - and West Vlaanderen, each region headed by a local Responsible Human Resources.

Assistance General Human Resources Management (training, recruitment, evaluations, redundancies, promotions,...) Supervising payroll administration, monitoring labor law and providing legal advice on international employment issues (world wide) Developing a new salary system, insurance policy, diverse labor conditions mainly for in- and expatriates (world wide) Preparing CLA negotiations, organizing social elections, preparing works council and syndical delegation, updating set of labor regulations

Through the reorganisation period I took up different functions; building a solid experience in payroll, comp & ben, expatmanagement, management development, function classification, training, recruitment, etc.

Setting up a separate white collar entity in the Ghent office. Recruitment and selection of white collars. Introducing tests in the selection procedure. Managed 2 major projects from the operational side: "Cité Ciné" and "Disney on Ice".
