I - fulfilled duties such as delivery management, engagement governance, monitoring KPIs and customer satisfaction, performance appraisal and staff development while taking creative actions for maximizing revenue and operating margin. Achievements included extending our largest European engagement for two more years

RomSoft provides high-quality custom software development services for several European clients and as partner in EU-funded research projects. My responsibilities included: - identifying and driving new business opportunities (e.g. Internet of Things) and extending company’s portfolio - developing a plan for transitioning from high-end outsourcing to own products and services - managing two Horizon 2020-funded R&D projects in the field of data security and privacy

I manage the Romanian based R&D center of Embarcadero Technologies Inc, one of the largest IT companies in Iasi (employing up to 170+ IT specialists out of a total of approx. 250 worldwide and with a yearly budget in excess of 4.5 million $). The duties I successfully performed include budget/financials, personnel, allocation of resources according to company’s priorities, development of relationship with external partners, organization improvement and high level project monitoring.

I established the Iasi R&D site of Pipex Communications UK as a greenfield investment, created the first 4 R&D teams, supervised the initial knowledge transfer and initiated and monitored development projects (some of them being new initiatives). I also took direct responsibility for the delivery of a high-risk project under severe time constraints – project succeeded.

Schlund + Partner AG Romania (now 1&1 Internet Romania) is the Romanian branch of the 1&1 Group (http://www.1und1.de/), a premium Internet Service Provider (ISP). The branch is a captive outsourcing center that delivers Software Development and Search Marketing services. I had full responsibility over local operations, working in a matrix-type organization with Division Heads and VP-level managers from the headquarter in Germany.

SBS was at that time the newest member of SoftNet Group, based on the experience, services and logistics of a former department of a sister-company – SoftNet Services. It provided IT services: web development, Internet access, design, implementation and maintenance of IT & C infrastructure, with a special focus on information security solutions.

My main responsibilities (that I outstandingly fulfilled) included: - to evaluate the business management solutions used in Romania and Sweden and to work with all business areas to lead the process of gathering new requirements, to select and implement (in Romania, UK and France – for 100+ users) a Web-based solution for Project and Business Process Management; - acted as Project Manager and Business Analyst for a Web-based application supporting a new line of services to be provided cu customers worldwi

The company’s main line of business was selling IT solutions to the SOHO market in the Eastern part of Romania, being one of the largest players in that area (with an annual revenue of over 2 million US$). My main achievements were: developing the retail sales (by opening a new store in March 2003), the corporate sales (I organized a new department), restructuring the company for improving efficiency of operations and preparing it for ISO 9000 certification.

DNT was a complex operation: besides being one of the first Internet Services Providers in Romania it also included succesful software development, web design and training departments. I coordonated DNT Iasi (and CCC – see below) during its entire life cycle - from the initial project proposal we presented to the Soros Foundation in 1993 to its conversion from a non-profit entity to a commercial one in 1997 and, as a final point, to its merger with another big player in the industry (Astral Telecom) in 2002

As IT&C Program Coordinator (part of a national team of four) I managed (planned, budgeted, implemented) IT&C programs of the Foundation with a total budget in excess of 4 million $ including: "Computers for High Schools" (large equipment donations to schools), "Internet Communicating with People" (grant packages including data communications equipment, services and training), "Academic Network Support".
