Boris Muya Blasberg

Currently doing an apprenticeship after having decided to undertake a new career path in Freight Forwarding Operations following a long period of job hunting on the German labour market. The Apprenticeship entails working and intensively learning the grass root operations of different Schenker departments. This is coupled with three separate periods of three months each in a Commercial School for Freight Forwarders. The entire period of ongoing learning is two and a half years.

Working part-time as a teacher at the Berlitz-School, Duesseldorf, where I teach German and English at various levels from beginner to business levels. I am still continuing my teaching job at the Berlitz-School at present, as I enjoy teaching a lot. This mainly takes place during the evenings and on some Saturdays.

Working here as an intern for a period of three and a half months, my tasks are researching and compiling reports on the human rights situations in Syria, Iraq, the Palestinian territories as well as the migration crisis facing Europe. The purpose of these reports are both to publish them on the organizations website as well as submit the more detailed ones to the human rights council of the United Nations. I attended and delivered several statements at the 31st UN Human Rights Council here in Geneva.

Trainee in the Human Resource department at Volkswagen Powertrain in Jiading district of Shanghai. During this time I observed and audited training briefings of new staff, filed and organized data on employees, clients as well as technical acquisitions for the plant. Worked with a colleague from the engineering department who commented while I filmed every step of the production line producing the engines. Following this we both sat down and composed a lengthy PowerPoint report.

Intern in the Sea Freight, Sales,Marketing and Human Resources. Worked for one year as a trainee with Kuehne+Nagel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I have worked in the fields of Sea Freight Operations, Marketing, Sales and Human Resources. Tasks I achieved included attending conferences with clients and marketing our services to potential clients. I also wrote the company marketing brochure for the year 2009.
