Managing the export sales team

My last position involved managing 3 QA teams in 3 countries and the region in accordance with Regional Director. (Jordan Pakistan,Turkey). My main role within this position is the responsibility of identifying quality problems and problematic suppliers, getting to the root cause of the problems, thus eliminating them by training the suppliers with my team. I was also responsible for auditing factories technically and social compliance wise before starting business with them.

Reporting to the General Manager & CEO I was responsible for ready made garments sales of the group factories’ established in Turkmenistan. When joining the company as an asst sales manager, established the marketing department for ready made garments together with the Sales Manager. Established the customer base from the scratch with the sales manager.The customers brought in were; Levi’s, Wal-Mart & JC Penney (direct); Nautica, CK and Hanes through agents.

Responsible for US accounts. Worked as a liaison between the company’s US Sales office and production units in Turkey. In 1997 I was requested by the Chairman to go and work in the US office as the Market representative. Worked at company’s NY office as customer representative before moving to my next position at Calik Holding.

Started my textile career at an exclusive supplier for the brand Quicksilver & Umbro as assistant merchandiser. My role was to follow up production for Quicksilver France and help the merchandiser to grow the account. After 6 months I have been promoted to Merchandiser responsible for the account. Have got trainings at each process of production (weaving & knitting, dyeing & finishing, cutting, sewing and QC) for 4 months.
