I was working in the cell biology team of the BIOMIN Research Center in Tulln and established an in-vitro bovine rumen model. While doing the internship at BIOMIN I worked with epithelial cells which I isolated from bovine rumen. I learned how to work sterile with primary cell cultures and did antibody stainings for characterization of the cells. Furthermore, I did cell viability assays to observe influence of toxins on epithelial cells.

I established a new method to measure the isotonic muscle force of heart muscle strings isolated from the auricular appendix. While doing the internship at the department of pathophysiology I worked with the thorax surgery of the university hospital together. I established a new bioassay with cooperation of the in-house mechanical workshop to simulate hypoxia-ischaemia and the influence on the muscle strings.
