Responsible for building the machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML/AI) group, Proofpoint Labs, from the ground up, including selecting and hiring of a world class team of experts in the field of machine learning, AI, Information Security and Protection. Interact with executive team and business unit leaders to articulate opportunities for product disruption using ML/AI.

As CTO of Vivint Solar, I helped Vivint Solar become one of the fastest growing solar energy companies. With an extensive background in R&D, big data and science, I led Vivint Solar Labs, with responsibility for all aspects of technology including: custom software and hardware development used in site analysis; PV and Energy Storage system modeling and design; data collection and aggregation; DER fleet monitoring and analytics; technical qualification of products, vendors and partners.

As VP of UX and Web Development, I was responsible for leading a team of designers and engineers in improving FamilySearch through user experience innovation and transforming our web property from one that was exclusive to members of the site to a site that was accessible to the general public. As Director of Applied Research I lead the research and productization of research in the following areas: large system scale and performance, big data, handwriting recognition, language processing and graph theory.

Responsible for architecture, design, implementation and technical leadership for the search/record-match engine for FamilySearch.
