Internship at EADS (Ottobrunn - Germany), laboratory of microstructural analysis Scope of work: Effect of the surface treatments MIT and UIT on the residual stress distribution inside AA2024-T3 sheets Tasks: • Preparation of samples from AA2024-T3 sheets, either base material or treated by UIT or MIT • X-ray irradiation-based residual stress analysis on the samples, to evaluate how UIT and MIT would affect and reduce residual stresses within aluminium sheets • Test reports and analysis

Internship in the laboratory of mechanical characterization and microstructural analysis of metallic materials at the European Research Centre GKSS Forschungszentrum in Geesthacht (Hamburg, Germany). Scope of work: Mechanical characterization and microstructural analysis of welded joints (Friction Stir Welding) Tasks: • Preparation of samples for the mechanical characterization of welded joints • Mechanical characterization of welded joints (tensile, fatigue and hardness tests)
