Gerard Soldevilla Claramunt

Master’s thesis at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Siemens Energy, focused on evaluating the aerodynamic performance of a high-pressure turbine stage through experimental testing and CFD simulations. The work included LabVIEW data acquisition, probe calibration, MATLAB post-processing, ANSYS ICEM CFD meshing, ANSYS CFX simulations, and comparison of numerical and experimental results for model validation.

At Oceanbbird I conducted CFD simulations of a wing-sail prototype using STAR-CCM+, analysing flow behaviour and aerodynamic performance. I developed parametric studies to identify optimal configurations, define stall margins, and evaluate off-design performance. I supported the structural team by computing aerodynamic loads for FEM-based aeroelastic studies. I also developed Python-based automation and post-processing tools to streamline analysis and improve the presentation of results.

During my time supporting Airbus through Accenture, I analysed component assembly and installation processes within a flow-line production environment. This involved reviewing technical drawings and manufacturing documentation to identify opportunities for process efficiency improvements and ensure alignment with production requirements. I coordinated closely with production, quality, and technical teams to implement modifications in the manufacturing sequence, to ensure meeting demand variations.
