Responsible for developing strategy to identify and engage with various business, public health and industry groups, and non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations to address issues surrounding the Company and its products. Direct the Company’s strategy in advance of the 2010 World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and work with PMI affiliates to develop local government relations strategies to address emerging issues.

Directed global external comms activities to support business and regulatory objectives, with responsibility for media relations, on-line comms, crisis comms and message and position development. Counseled sr. management on external comms strategy. Served as spokesperson for PMI on all issues, including business development, litigation, regulatory initiatives, tobacco issues and product strategies. Oversaw comms by all PMI affiliates to ensure global consistency in message, tone and strategic direction.
