Teaching services within the medical imaging and radiotherapy program

 Responsible for the validation and commissioning of a dual panel Siemens Time of Flight (TOF)-PET scanner for proton and helium beam radiotherapy applications.  Executed experiments, production yield and imaging, on the utility of short-lived positron emitters (for e.g. 12N) for monitoring particle beam radiotherapy.  Developed and implemented data analysis and image reconstruction procedure.  Prepared conference presentations and journal manuscripts.

 Supervised tutorial sessions in Radiation physics, a module in the master’s programs of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Physics.  Supervised tutorial sessions in Ionizing Radiation in medicine and biology, a module in the bachelors’ program in Physics.  Supported students doing their bachelor projects at the KVI-CART.

 Investigated the design and experimental validation of components in the delivery nozzles for proton beam radiotherapy.  Implemented a Monte Carlo simulation model of beam delivery systems for proton therapy.  Performed initial studies on the dose distribution of protons using Monte Carlo code (TOPAS)

 Taught the application of radiology equipment such as CT, MRI, General x-ray imaging to students.
