Excess and surplus commercial lines package underwriting

Selects, retains and prices commercial insurance risks while conforming to established underwriting policies, practices and standards. Underwrites large, complex commercial lines accounts. Provides counsel, training and assistance of a highly technical and professional nature on all lines of commercial insurance. Works with a specific group of agents, as assigned, in the pursuit of a profitable, growing book of business.

Select profitable risks and manage book of business by underwriting assigned territory, as well as, building working relationships with independent agents and co-workers. Additionally, providing guidance to the Assistant Underwriter and working closely with underwriting support divisions within the organization.

Review, evaluate, and price standard lines business by applying sound underwriting judgement and adhering to company policy and state regulations within and established level of authority. Effectively manage agency territory to achieve established growth and profit goals. Develop increasing number of high growth potential agencies through effective underwriting and selling of standard lines products.

Evaluate, review, and price specialty commercial multi-line insurance for various risk exposures including Liability, Property, Auto, Inland Marine, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, EPLI and D&O. Effectively manage a large and diverse group of independent agencies to establish a growing and profitable book of business.
