Smtihs Medical develop and manufacture a wide range of medical devices (for example tracheostomy, infusion, catheters, implantable ports). I was accountable for achieving MDR compliance across the entire Smiths portfolio of products (approx. 45 product families containing approx. 6000 individual product).

I have created a new R&D team in Europe to support international infusion system development projects. The key role of this small team of 6 is to define and project manage a portfolio of new product developments, using further global BD resources mainly in San Diego US or third party organisations. The team consists of highly specialised system engineers and project managers.

Pall Corporation is a filtration, separation and purification leader for fluids and gases. The medical business unit of Pall is offering medical devices that purify and sterilise water in hospital, filter intravenous infusion solutions and filtering breathing/ventilation circuits. In a process of creating business units my role was to integrate the science, research & development and production engineering teams into one technology team, around 50 staff across multiple sites.

I am responsible for managing the project management function in the Innovation & Development department of Linde in the Healthcare area of the business.

Within a large, international R&D matrix organisation responsible for successfull product development of infusion technology, covering the entire life cycle of the project and product. Teams 10 to 50 people, budgets $500k to £3Mill per annum.

Product strategy, product development management, regulatory affairs, connect in particular SMEs to science and research for pressure area care products

Manage the R&D department and lead all technical aspects of the product range, both inhouse designs and acquisitions. Focussed on total bed management, pressure area care products, wound care and assistive technologies.
