Plan and lead the transition of Bombardier operational services to outsourcing provider

I am responsible for the application operations of our joint venture since May 2010. The challenges I am mastering are: leading and building up of a professional operations team, IT process enabling, running all of the joint venture applications according to the service level agreements and enabling the business growth with successfully implementing projects. I launched and performed successfully IT projects to achieve my targets like consolidation of helpdesks, implementing of IT-SCM.

I took over the responsibility of Infrastructure Management as acting manager. The main targets are ensuring our current productive environment with several data centres more than 250 server and more than 2900 clients. The scope increases quickly due to the built up of complete new vehicle plant at Shenyang and the support and hand-over of the project related deliverables.

The next step of my career in BMW IT was to ensure the go live of a large scale project in a start- up manager role. We changed the business processes of our joint venture BMW- Brilliance Ltd. from “completely knocked down” to “completely build up”. To achieve the process change we rolled out and migrated 120 systems. The main challenge for me was to ensure the go live of production, logistics, sales systems including financial integration and to stabilize the systems after go live successfully.

Again I had the challenge to run the operations of the solution we rolled out during the project. I took the operational responsibility for sales, delivery and quality processes within the logistical material flow. My contribution to BMW was to run systems like SAP in the vehicle plants and central mainframe systems according to our ITIL standards stable and reliable . Another highlight was a sourcing project where we consolidated all of our external application operations support to a new provider.

BMW offered me to step into projects which were highly mature run like: system migration in production and quality processes at the motor bike plant in Berlin. After successfully performing the projects I took the responsibility for operations of the business critical systems. The main task was to achieve the availability targets of service level agreements and to improve the operational processes with implementing a control centre and ITIIL standardized service to delivery processes.

I collected experience with high availability systems by rolling out a Oracle cluster solution which covered the quality and production process.The highlight of this engagement was to perform a large scale project in an international environment in the car assembly of Daimler-Chrysler Vitoria, Spain.

The most challenging tasks for me were leading projects in automotive environment and implementing mobile computing applications on WIN-CE platforms. I focused on quality processes for customers like Volkswagen and Daimler. The small size of our company gave me the opportunity to gather a good overview on all enterprise processes.
