Currently, I am developing a high-resolution light sheet microscope for imaging fixed and cleared tissue. This approach would have a wide range of biological applications for sub-cellular imaging of entire tissue organisms.

I recieved a PhD in Bio-optics from the University of Kassel with a distinguished honorable degree (Summa Cum Laude, with an honorable grade of 0.7 for my thesis and 0.9 for my final defense in the German education system). During my PhD project, I developed a modern, high-resolution light-sheet microscope to study the development of fruit fly embryos. The study was successfully published in the journals Development and Scientific Reports. As the research was completely novel, it was also granted a patent b
